Hello and welcome
Hello and thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Toye Hickman and I am a retired U.S. Marine and served proudly for 26 years. During my time in the Marine Corps, I experience several traumatic events which resulted in my diagnosis with complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Since my retirement my PTSD symptoms have overwhelmed me greatly. I was isolating myself and thought about dying almost daily. At the end of 2019, I had a breakdown and was very suicidal. I ended up researching service dogs and found an excellent organization called K9s for Warriors. Their program paired me with the best service dog ever, Bake. This blog is the story of how Bake is helping me to take control of my life.
